Shelagh Prosser
Shelagh Prosser is an established diversity practitioner with more than 20 years' experience of taking action to address discrimination and promote inclusion.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Ms. Prosser held senior diversity posts in the civil service, the BBC and the transport industry.
As a consultant she has worked with public, private and voluntary and community sectors.
Ms. Prosser has worked extensively on strategies and practical actions to embed equality and diversity into business development, employment practice and service delivery.
Her experience includes policy development, equality audits, research, analysis, writing for publication and stakeholder engagement.
Ms. Prosser is chair of the Westminster Equalities Partnership, an initiative that brings together the public and voluntary sectors in the City of Westminster; an assessor for WEConnect Europe, a supplier diversity initiative; and regularly chairs equality symposiums organized by the Public Policy Exchange.
She is chair of Women and Manual Trades, a national charity supporting women working in the construction industry; a director of Border Crossings, an intercultural arts organization; and a director of Tindlemanor, a building for women's organizations.
From 2009 to 2011 Ms. Prosser was vice-chair of the Institute of Equality and Diversity Practitioners.
She is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
