Arkansas employers that have parental leave policies are required to extend the same leave, under the same terms, to adoptive parents as to biological parents. Employers should consider including this statement in their handbook to educate employees, including supervisors, about the availability of leave for adoptive parents and to show their compliance with Arkansas law.
