Summary

  • There is no general statutory requirement for employers to provide employees with vocational training, or with financial assistance or time off for such training. (See General)
  • There is a system of Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) programmes, which harmonises different EBET training modalities, such as apprenticeships, learnerships and dual training systems, under one common framework. (See Apprenticeships, General Enterprise-Based Education and Training, and Upskilling Programmes)
  • Employers may participate in JobStart Philippines, which provides internships and traineeships under certain conditions and give the individuals concerned preference for future employment when they complete the scheme. (See Other training arrangements)
