Employers with one or more employees in New York City and 100 or more employees overall should consider including this statement in their handbook to educate employees, including supervisors, about the availability of sick leave and to show their compliance with New York City's Earned Safe and Sick Time Act. This policy also covers the New York Sick and Safe Leave Law. It is intended to address compliance with both state and local laws.
