Pennsylvania Expands Workers' Compensation Benefits for First Responders with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Implementation Date: October 29, 2025
Effective October 29, 2025, Pennsylvania amends its workers' compensation law to allow coverage for a post-traumatic stress injury suffered by a first responder as a result of a qualifying traumatic event that occurred in the course and scope of the individual's employment as a first responder. To be a compensable injury under the amended law, a post-traumatic stress injury is no longer required to be a result of an abnormal working condition.
