Utah Child Labor Amendments Take Effect
Implementation Date: May 1, 2024
Effective May 1, 2024, Utah's child labor laws are amended to:
- Modify the hours of work requirements for minors 16 years old and younger;
- Remove public messenger service and the use of power lawn mowers from the list of permitted occupations for 14-year-olds and older;
- Remove the sale and delivery of periodicals and the door-to-door sale and delivery of merchandise from the list of permitted occupations for 12-year-olds and older;
- Remove the delivery of handbills, advertising, and advertising samples from the list of permitted occupations for 10-year-olds and older;
- Add certain types of acting and performing to the list of permitted occupations for all minors.
