When to Use
An employer that elects to implement an educational assistance program may use this policy to communicate the program's benefits, eligibility requirements and how to participate. This policy is not required by law.
Educational assistance programs, also called tuition reimbursement programs, support employees who decide to continue their education and professional development by attending courses or training. These programs typically reimburse employees for educational expenditures, such as:
- Tuition and fees;
- Books, supplies and equipment; and
- Other related expenses.
