Summary

  • California has adopted the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. See Trade Secrets.
  • California is one of several states that define certain computer-related offenses as behavior that constitutes trespassing. See Computer Misuse and Trespass.
  • California requires a person or business that owns or licenses computerized data that includes personal information to notify the appropriate authorities and affected residents of a security breach. See Data Breaches.
