- Montana has adopted the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. See Securing Employer Property.
- Theft through improper retention of property, identity theft and through deceptive statements or actions is subject to criminal penalties under Montana law. See Securing Employer Property.
- Montana prohibits the unlawful use, alteration or destruction of computers, systems, networks and software. See Securing Electronic Devices.
- Violence in the workplace is not specifically addressed under Montana law, but criminal trespass statutes can apply to workplace trespass, and special unemployment benefit rules apply to employees who leave employment due to domestic violence. See Securing Employees.
