California's pay data reporting law requires certain employers to submit data detailing their employees' compensation, job category, and hours worked by race, sex and ethnicity to the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) each year. A covered employer must submit a report covering the prior calendar year (the reporting year) by the second Wednesday of May of each year.
