Summary

  • All Arizona employers are required to post the Arizona Workers' Compensation Poster in the workplace. See Notice Requirements.
  • All employers must carry workers' compensation insurance regardless of the number of workers employed in the course of their business. Failure to carry insurance or to obtain self-insurance pursuant to state regulations, may result in fines and even the closure of the business. See Covered Employers.
  • Every employee is covered by workers' compensation protection, with one notable exception. See Covered Employees.
  • Injuries and occupational diseases arising from the course of employment are compensable under the law. See Compensable Injuries and Illnesses.
  • Employers may not be liable for all injuries or illnesses, depending on the circumstances of the injury or illness. See Employer Defenses to Workers' Compensation Claims.
  • Workers' Compensation pays for medical expenses as well as partial loss of wages. See Benefits.
