Summary
- All Maryland employers that are subject to the workers' compensation regulations are required to post the Maryland Workers' Compensation Notice Poster in the workplace. See Notice Requirements.
- All employers must provide workers' compensation insurance to their employees, with limited exceptions. See Covered Employers.
- The vast majority of employees in Maryland are covered by workers' compensation insurance, with two major exceptions. See Covered Employees.
- Injuries and occupational illnesses that occur in the course of or arise out of employment are compensable. See Compensable Injuries.
- Employers may not be liable for certain types of injuries incurred under specific circumstances. See Employer Defenses to Workers' Compensation Claims.
