Notification of Policy Regarding Workplace Misconduct and Terms of Progressive Discipline Letter
Author: Darrell R. VanDeusen, Kollman & Saucier, PA
When to Use
Employers should use this letter when they want to give employees advance notice of the types of behavior that will constitute misconduct, as well as provide employees with advance notice of the terms of a progressive disciplinary policy. Advance notification of misconduct is typically required when employers prefer to discharge problematic employees for "gross misconduct" or "for cause," the latter of which may trigger a termination provision of an employment contract.
