When to Use
Several states require employers to provide leave for employees who donate bone marrow or blood, or who serve as an organ donor, in addition to any other medical or personal leave provided. An employer should consider implementing a written policy regarding leaves of absence to donate bone marrow, blood or an organ if it is required by law to provide such leave or if it chooses to offer this leave.
