Safe Workplace Policy

When to Use
It is essential for employers to cultivate a safe work environment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to protect workers from hazards in the workplace and seek methods to eliminate or prevent dangerous conditions.
Therefore, an employer should consider implementing this Safe Workplace Policy to correct unsafe conditions, monitor for hazards, prevent undesirable incidents, and outline the commitment and responsibilities of everyone in the organization toward a safer workplace. However, a safe workplace policy does not replace written programs or plans required by applicable OSHA standards or equivalent state and local laws.
In some states, a safe workplace policy is a required as part of a comprehensive injury and illness prevention program. Employers should check the requirements of the states in which they operate.
