Visitor Policy

When to Use
Unauthorized or unattended visitors at a workplace can present a variety of unwanted issues for an employer, such as theft of intellectual property or the visitor injuring themselves or harming employees. These risks can lead to significant legal consequences for an employer.
To minimize such risks, an employer should consider implementing this policy regarding visitors to address workplace security issues and the measures in place to keep its employees, property, premises and visitors safe and secure. The policy should be included in an employer's handbook, if it has one, where it can be read and acknowledged by all employees. Doing so puts all employees on notice of what the rules, expected behavior and responsibilities are regarding visitors.
