  • The District of Columbia requires companies that contract with the District of Columbia government to meet certain affirmative action goals. The rules are specific and include what percentages of the contractor's work force should be made up of women and minorities. See Affirmative Action for Government Contractors.
  • Private employers may implement affirmative action plans. There are special requirements for banks and savings and loan associations. See Affirmative Action for Private Employers.
