A Maryland bill that would require employers to include pay information in job postings has passed the state legislature and awaits signature by Gov. Wes Moore.
Under a new bill, Maryland's minimum wage will increase to $15.00 for all employers starting January 1, 2024 - a year earlier for large employers and two and a half years earlier for small employers compared to the increases scheduled under previous law.
Maryland employers that participate in a first-of-its-kind pilot program could receive a significant tax credit if they allow employees to reduce their work to four days per week without any reduction in pay.
In both states, employers may still prohibit marijuana use or possession in the workplace or on the employer's property.
