  • An employer may extend an employment offer to a prospective employee verbally or in writing. See Employment Offer.
  • If an employer withdraws an employment offer, the employer may be liable for damages if the prospective employee can prove detrimental reliance. See Accepting, Withdrawing or Rescinding an Employment Offer.
  • Generally, an employer may make an employment offer to a prospective employee contingent on a satisfactory preemployment screening and testing. See Conditional Offers.
