Leadership Development 2024: Survey Report

Introduction

Leaders are the backbone of an organization, and they must have a solid skillset to guide teams to success. However, employees with the potential to be great leaders often have a learning curve to develop their capabilities, and even experienced leaders can benefit from working to understand their weaknesses and committing to continual improvement. Organizations need to put practices in place to make sure employees with the greatest leadership potential get ample opportunities to develop their skills.

In this survey report, we explore leadership development practices across a variety of organizations to understand how companies identify employees with high leadership potential and guide them toward success. We examine how the methods used to develop leaders relate to key business outcomes and discuss the challenges organizations can face when attempting to implement a leadership development strategy.
