Summary
- Mississippi law does address which methods of wage payment employers must use. See Wage Payment Methods.
- Manufacturing employers must pay nonexempt employees every two weeks or twice a month. See Pay Frequency.

- Except in certain cases involving termination of an oral or written contract with a sales representative for services to be rendered within the state on a commission basis, Mississippi has no special requirements regarding the timing of final paychecks. See Final pay.
- After the death of an employee, an employer must pay any wages owed the deceased employee to certain claimants in priority order and within 60 days of death. See Deceased Employee Wages.
- Unclaimed wages are considered abandoned property after five years. Every three years, employers must file a report of unclaimed wages and provide notification to affected employees that the wages will be reported to the state. Penalties are imposed for noncompliance. See Unclaimed Wages.
