When to Use
When employees suffer injuries in or around the workplace, HR professionals and employers at large have to respond. That response, however, can be the difference between a well-managed injury and recovery that results in the employee returning to work or a dispute with the employee that results in a lawsuit.
This checklist can assist HR professionals who are tasked with coordinating a response to an employee injury, corresponding with legal counsel, insurance companies and any outside entities that may have oversight over the injury and the ensuing medical treatment and recovery.
Employers should complete the following steps in sequential order.
