Summary
- Ohio law prohibits retaliation against employees who oppose workplace discrimination by employers or who make charges or participate in investigations or other proceedings related to such activity. +ORC Ann. 4112.02(I), See Retaliation Under Workplace Discrimination Laws..
- The analysis used by Ohio courts to assess employment retaliation claims is consistent with federal law. See Retaliation Under Workplace Discrimination Laws.
- Ohio law also prohibits retaliation against employees who have opposed violations of Ohio's minimum wage statute, including Section 4111.17, which prohibits discrimination in the payment of wages on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or ancestry. +ORC Ann. 4111.13.
