Summary
- Texas adopted the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act (TCHRA or Texas Labor Code, Chapter 21) in 1983 and created the Texas Commission on Human Rights to enforce its provisions. The TCHRA aims to secure for its citizens freedom from discrimination based on race, color, disability, religion, sex, national origin or age. See Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.
