Summary
- The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) is a federal law that provides leave rights for public and private employees with military obligations. Georgia law will apply in instances where it provides greater benefits, protections and/or rights than USERRA. See Georgia Military Leave.
- Georgia law also protects individuals who take a leave of absence to participate in assemblies or annual training or to attend service schools run by the US armed forces; members of the organized militia or US armed forces reserves; and National Guard members. See Georgia Military Leave.
