Summary

  • Minnesota law gives employees the right to take military leave. See Minnesota Military Leave.
  • Minnesota law prohibits an employer from terminating or otherwise discriminating against an individual because of his or her membership in the military. See Discrimination.
  • Minnesota employers with 20 or more employees must grant unpaid leave to serve as members of the Civil Air Patrol at the request of the state, unless allowing such leave would unduly disrupt the employer's operations. See Leave for Civil Air Patrol Service.
  • Minnesota law requires an employer to provide an unpaid leave to employees to attend ceremonies or events for close family members who are in the military. See Leave to Attend Military Ceremonies and Events.
  • Minnesota law requires employers to grant up to 10 days of unpaid leave to an employee whose family member has been injured or killed in active military service. See Military Family Leave.
