  • Arkansas employers are required to pay certain employees their final paycheck within a certain time period if conditions are met. See Payment of Final Wages.
  • Arkansas employers are generally not required to compensate outgoing employee for unused benefits. However, certain employers are statutorily bound to compensate employees for unused benefits. See Benefits Upon Termination.
  • Arkansas law prohibits certain employees from obtaining unemployment insurance if they commit misconduct in the workplace. The definition of misconduct in this context is derived from the controlling statute itself. See Disqualification for Certain Benefits Due to Misconduct.
  • Arkansas employers are not required to provide outgoing employees with a reason for termination, particularly where the outgoing employees were retained at-will. See Reasons for Termination.
  • Arkansas employers are not required to provide employment references, but may shield themselves from liability from future employers for negligent hiring practices if they provide factual, neutral references upon request. See Reference Letters.
