  • Employment relationships in Rhode Island are presumed to be at-will, meaning they can be terminated by either party, at any time, with or without cause. See Termination for Cause.
  • The State Fair Employment Practices Act prohibits the termination of employees who make claims under the statute. See Retaliatory Discharge.
  • Terminated employees must be paid their final wages within a certain time period or else their employer will be subject to penalties. See Termination Pay.
