Annual Leave, Foreign Nationals, Unfair Dismissal Claims and More: International Manual Updated for Four Countries

Country guides in our International Manual have been updated with information about the following subjects:
Argentina: Change of date for the payment of the second installment of the mandatory bonus from December 31st to December 18th;
Jersey: Increase in the required length of continuous employment for an unfair dismissal claim and changes to the maternity allowance payment rules; and
South Africa: Changes to the rules on visas and permissions required by foreign nationals to work in South Africa, new rules on picketing in public-access areas, and case note relating to equal treatment under a maternity policy for father in a surrogacy situation added.
In addition, several sections of the Romania country guide have been updated with information about the following subjects:
- Contracts of Employment: Additional grounds on which an employer can unilaterally suspend an employment contract.
- Employee Rights: New right to be assisted at a disciplinary hearing, change in period within which carried-over annual leave must be taken, introduction of employee's right to leave for child health checks, modification to the rules on redundancy consultation on the insolvency of the employer, and additional grounds on which personal data of an employee may be processed.
