Summary
- In addition to the federal equal opportunity laws, Montana employers must comply with state law, namely the Montana Human Rights Act. See Disability Discrimination in Montana.
- The Montana Human Rights Act specifically prohibits an employer from refusing to employ, barring a person from employment or otherwise discriminating against any individual with respect to the individual's compensation or a term, condition or privilege of employment because of the individual's disability when the reasonable demands of the position do not require a distinction based on disability. - Employers must provide reasonable accommodations for employees with pregnancy-related disabilities. See Pregnancy Disability Accommodation.
