Employees who are members of the Civil Air Patrol (the civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force) may be absent from work to do any of the following in their capacity as a Civil Air Patrol member: respond to an emergency declared by the Governor of Connecticut or President of the United States; respond to a request for assistance in an emergency, natural disaster or life-threatening event at the request of the United States Air Force or Coast Guard,
