School Activities Leave Handbook Statement: District of Columbia

Eligible employees working in the District of Columbia may take a total of 24 hours of leave during any 12-month period to attend or participate in school-related events for their children. The following individuals are eligible for leave under this policy: (1) a parent, individual with legal custody or person acting as the guardian of a child; (2) an aunt, uncle or grandparent of a child; or (3) a person married to, or in a domestic partnership with, a parent, guardian, individual with legal custody, aunt, uncle or grandparent of a child.
