The Michigan Supreme Court has struck down the state's current minimum wage and paid sick leave laws and replaced them with earlier versions of the laws that are significantly more beneficial to employees.
Updated title (formerly Paid Sick and Safe Time Handbook Statement: San Diego, California) for style; and updated threshold, statement and guidance to address compliance with state sick leave law.
San Diego employers should consider including this statement in their handbook to educate employees, including supervisors, about the availability of sick leave using the lump sum method and to show their compliance with the San Diego Earned Sick Leave and Minimum Wage Ordinance. This policy also covers the California Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act. It is intended to address compliance with both state and local law.
