Employers that have employees working in Vermont that wish to provide paid sick leave using the lump sum method rather than the accrual method should consider including this statement in their handbook to educate employees, including supervisors, about the availability of paid sick and safe time and to show their compliance with the Vermont Earned Sick Time Law.
