Global parental leave and pay comparative table
Authors: Rocio Carracedo Lopez and Ronelle (Elle) Barreto
Parental leave is generally a family-based entitlement, which may be taken as a continuous period of leave, on a part-time basis through reduced working hours, in separate blocks, or as a shared entitlement between parents, depending on the jurisdiction. Mothers may be able to transfer part of their leave entitlement to the father or their partner, and they can share the leave; or parents are both given specific entitlement to parental leave.
